Q. Why is the virgin birth important to the Christian faith?
A. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, had to be free from the sinful nature passed on to all other human beings by Adam. Because Jesus was born of a woman, He was a human being; but as the Son of God, Jesus was born without any trace of human sin. Jesus is both full human and fully divine. The infinite, unlimited God took on the limitations of humanity so He could live and die for the salvation of all who believe in Him”.

Obedient to God

V22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
V 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
V24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
V25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Jesus Name – God in the flesh who comes to save

Hebrews 4:15-16 says, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in time of need.”
