DAY 15– February 1, 2010 – BLESSED HOPE FIT CHALLENGE

DAY 15– February 1, 2010 – BLESSED HOPE FIT CHALLENGE

2:22 pm – Reading “The One Year Bible”

January 30 Exodus 10:1-12:13; Matthew 20:1-28; Psalm 25:1-15; Proverbs 6:6-11

Observation of Exodus:
• God covered the whole country with locust – Pharaoh’s heart still stubborn
• God covered the whole land with darkness for 3 days – Pharaoh’s heart still stubborn
• The next plague was going to be when God passed over every household that had the smear of blood on the door; if this symbolic sign wasn’t there he was going to kill the first born male of all Egypt and that includes the animals

Observation of Matthew:
Jesus dealt with the first should be last and the last shall be first. He warned the 12 disciples again about what was about to happen to him, his horrific death. The mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee wanted to know whil will sit next to Jesus (on the left and right). Jesus assured them they wasn’t prepared to drink from the same cup as him.

Observation of Psalms:
The psalmist is asking for direction. It sounds like he is at a cross road of making some decisions. He also begs forgivness for his sins. He is giving God honor for the good that he does, he leads the humble in the right way, the Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees.

Observation of Proverbs:
God is calling the folks lazy bones. Learn from the ants who work hard all summer for winter. A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
