New Year ..Better Relationship with my Father - Thursday, January 4, 2018

As I begin to look back over my life and see how God has been blessing me and keeping me and my family, I feel very grateful.  My Father who sticks by my side, wakes me up, provides for me, He is not fickle but in fact Faithful, who wouldn't serve a God like this?

I want my relationship to grow with my Father, I want to spend more Quality Time with Him, so the Holy Spirit has been pulling me back toward the One Year Bible..so here I am..4 days later shy of January 1st but it's never to late to restore or grow a closer relationship with your Father

Day 1 :  Genesis 1:1-2:25;  Matthew 1:1-2:12; Psalm 1:1-6;  Proverbs 1:1-6

NASB (New Aemrican Standard Bible)
KJV (King James Version)
MSG (The Message)
Genesis 1:1-8

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was [a]formless and void, and darkness was over the [b]surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was [c]moving over the [d]surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

6 Then God said, “Let there be [e]an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 God made the [f]expanse, and separated the waters which were below the [g]expanse from the waters which were above the [h]expanse; and it was so. 8 God called the [i]expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
1 1-2 First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.

3-5 God spoke: “Light!”
        And light appeared.
God saw that light was good
        and separated light from dark.
    God named the light Day,
        he named the dark Night.
It was evening, it was morning—
    Day One.

6-8 God spoke: “Sky! In the middle of the waters;
        separate water from water!”
    God made sky.
He separated the water under sky
        from the water above sky.
    And there it was:
        he named sky the Heavens;
It was evening, it was morning—
    Day Two.

Commentary/Observation:
Genesis 1:6  Based on a verb that can refer to covering something with a thin sheet of metal (Num. 16:39; Isa. 40:191, the noun firmament always refers to the vast spread of the open sky.

Genesis 1:7  God's second act of separation was to divide atmospheric water from terrestrial water.  Thus, He began the process of giving form to the material world.  The clause it was so, found six times in this chapter, emphasizes God's absolute power over creation.

An atmospheric water generator (AWG) is a device that extracts water from humid ambient air.

Terrestrial Water - may be considered as falling into three broad classes:
A)  Surface water - the free flowing water of streams and rivers, and the water of ponds and lakes.
B) Ground water - the water held in saturated strata below
C) Soil water - the water held in association with air in unsaturated superficial layers

Genesis 1:8  Heaven - can refer to the earth's atmospheric envelope (v20), outer space (v15) or the spiritual realm where God lives (Ps. 11:4)

To be continued.. Stopped at Genesis 1:1-8
