Monday, August 29, 2011 - Putting the Flesh to death

Putting the Flesh to Death
This is a radio broadcast from www.strengthfortoday.net

Comments are either from the minister speaking or my own comments
Most scriptures are from the NIV version

Gal 5:24 (Amplified)

24And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.

Galatians 5:24

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Gal 3:26

Galatians 3:26

New International Version (NIV)

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,

Comments:
You are sons of God in Christ..thought faith in Christ Jesus

Galations 3:
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

comments:
the faith became real, the faith became consumated..by being baptized

Gal 5:16
Live by the spirit

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Next set of comments;
Live by the spirit and you will not desire those things of the flesh
Gal 5:6

**The Holy Spirit speaks to Us **

Hebrews 1:1-2 (NIV)
1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

Comments: Holy spirit speaks to us because He is sealed in us if we are believers..we do not need prophets, apostles, etc

9:03 (minutes)
Comments:

God has given us his Word, Sealed it up, somethign that does not change that we can depend on; it doesn't change like the waves in the sea; Eph 4, rather, it is constant

Live by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature

The new testament at one in the same thing, creates in us the desire to do right and gives us the power to do right, at one in the same time.

The old testament gave certain information but we notice that the new testament gives us revelation.
The new testament gives us power in changing for the inner man.

i.e.
Jesus said, you heard, that thou shalt not commit adultery but I say unto you, if a man looks on a woman to lust after her in his heart, he had committed adultery

Jesus teaching went far beyond the external and spoke of the very heart itself.
