Matthew 16:24-26 (New Living Translation)
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?[a] Is anything worth more than your soul?
• Do not put “Self, Family & Possession” Before God
• How can you say you love your God who you never seen but you walk with your brother daily
Scriptures regarding Love
Mark 12:31
31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[a] No other commandment is greater than these.”
Luke 10:37
37 The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.”
Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”
Back to Discipleship.. How can you be a disciple of God and not give up “EVERYTHING”??
Luke 14:33
33 So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own
• You have to forsake ALL you Have for Christ
• The old nature is put off and the new nature requires God to be first

****** BIG NEWS !!!!*****
When you willfully miss your obligation, there’s a price to pay
• You must DENY yourself!!!
• Matthew 19:16-22
The Rich Man
16 Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher,[a] what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”
17 “Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep[b] the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” the man asked.
And Jesus replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. 19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c]”
20 “I’ve obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied. “What else must I do?”
21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
